How To Throw A Wedding During COVID

by Heidi Wheeler

If there is one thing that the world can agree upon, it's that 2020 has changed everything. If you were planning on getting married in 2020 but are still concerned about the virus, then you may be wondering if you'll have to cancel your big day. While the decision is ultimately up to you, there are a few things that you may want to do that can help keep you and your guests protected while still having a party to celebrate.

Have It Tented Outside

One of the best things that you can do when throwing a big wedding during COVID is to throw it outside where there is plenty of air that will circulate. The tricky thing about any outdoor wedding, however, is the weather. To help keep all of your bases covered, rent a big tent.

Tent rentals are a great way for you to not only keep everything protected from whether while still having a wedding outside but they can also create the perfect mood too. In fact, a lot of tent rentals will come with things like large outdoor heaters to regulate cold temperatures and strands of twinkle lights or light fixtures to help create the ultimate ambiance for your wedding. These come in different sizes, so speak with a professional about the tents for rent that are available.

Have a Smaller Party

Another thing that you can do in addition to renting a tent for outside is have a smaller group come to your wedding. This will not only help protect more people form the spread of the virus but it can help you save a lot of money as well. Consider just inviting your closest friends and family members to celebrate with you on your big day; after all, they are the only people you will remember being at your wedding anyways.

Take Precautions With Food and Seating

Normally, you can have a big buffet at yours wedding and seat a bunch of people together at a table. To keep everyone safe during COVID, however you may want to hire a wait staff to serve people with individual plates; that way nobody is breathing on everyone's food. Additionally, you can ensure that your wait and catering staff are wearing masks and gloves to keep everyone protected.

Another thing to consider is your seating arrangements. Reach out to guest beforehand regarding who they are sitting next to and how many people are at a table. if you have a family coming to your wedding, then seating them together at one table may make sense since they already live with each other.
